About Ryan
A Redemption Arc
Crawling from beneath the brambles of his youth, a shortcut turned homeric odyssey, a Near-man, of age yet lacking the tools and know-how, lacking the hard won prizes of triumph, lacking the wisdom of forward progress, but fortified in the knowing of what doesn't work, plots a whirlwind tour of how to adult, under the tutelage of the guiding voices which freed him from the brambles, and the voices which guided those guides.
Scarred and weathered, abyss frayed, wounded where people try to enter, the Near-man is on the clock, finally, and seeking to make good on promises to the still small voice of God. I will sing, I will write, I will help the wounded weary man, I will stand on my own, I will not harden under the slings and arrows of the world but become wise in avoiding these projectiles.
He seeks redemption, without approval. Not waiting for the soundtrack. Not waiting for the wizard. Not waiting for the dragon egg. Not waiting for the injured king's guard to mend. Just deciding that its ok if I become a man now, and throw myself into life.
